    Sponsors
The International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) is the oldest intergovernmental organization in the world concerned with marine and fisheries science. Since its establishment in Copenhagen in 1902, ICES has been a leading scientific forum for the exchange of information and ideas on the sea and its living resources, and for the promotion and coordination of marine research by scientists within its member countries. ICES coordinates and promotes marine research and good management practices in the North Atlantic and adjacent seas such as the Baltic Sea and North Sea. This provides a meeting point for more than 1600 marine scientists from 19 countries around the North Atlantic as well as providing unbiased management advice for the member countries.

ICES 2006 Boston is a five-day symposium that will bring together leading members of science, industry, government, and academia from around the world to explore the theme of Fishing Technology in the 21st Century, Integrating Fishing & Ecosystem Conservation.
